We are all Patriots but in our hearts we love a Giant Super Bowl Sale!!!!! Our sale will kick off on Sunday, February 3 from 1pm until 5pm. Everything will be marked down. We’ll have door prizes each quarter - (each hour). Refreshments and fun will be the play of the day. There will be hidden footballs which signal a special savings on that item in the store. We will also have a basket of goodies ($50 value) to be given away at the end of the day. For every $10 spent, you will receive one chance for this basket and if you wear a sports jersey, you’ll get an extra chance. If we have a blizzard the day of the sale, we will re-schedule the sale to the following Sunday but call the store to be sure. This will be one super sale…Super Sale IV !!

Checking the February Calendar
Terry’s Annual Sale is Friday, February 1. She is charging “one-penny-a-square-inch” for her standard quilting patterns. Some restrictions apply. This is a great opportunity to get your UFO’s (un-finished objects) finished!! Sharon offers a 15% discount for batting used in all your projects that Terry quilts for you. Call Terry for more information at 732-1252. Don’t miss this great deal!!

The Cell Phone Bag Class has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 2 from 1pm until 3pm. This is a great little cell phone bag that you can carry in your purse or instead of your purse. The pattern includes everything you need to make 3 bags except the fabric. ½ yard will make all three but long 5” wide strips can be used for variety. The class fee is $10 plus the pattern. This class is the same day as Delphine’s Paper Pieced Heart Class so come and spend the day with us and get 2 projects. They make wonderful gifts for someone you love.   If you sign up for both classes, you’ll save $5 ($15 rather than $20 plus the cost of the cell phone pattern).   Sharon is also offering a 15% discount on the pattern if you take both classes. What a great day!!!

Sit, Sew, and Sip Soup will be Tuesday, February 5. You can work on your current project, a pre-cut charity project or just relax with other quilters starting at 10am. Stay as long as you like. We meet every Tuesday, but the first Tuesday of the month (Feb 5 and March 4) is special because we will be serving you a hearty soup lunch!! Won’t you join us? A special bonus to the Sit and Sewers: receive 10% off all your purchases that day.

The Kaye Wood’s Tool Club will have their first meeting on Thursday, February 14 from 10 until 2. They will start with a heart pattern of course! The club will include techniques for making the most difficult looking pattern fast and easy and IT'S FREE!!! (no class fee)   Tools, patterns and fabric will be offered at a discount to club members but since the club is free, we require that supplies for club projects be purchased from QGS. Club membership is limited. Registration is required, so sign up early! Call NOW!!! Bring your lunch or order in. The club will meet on the second Thursday of each month.

Valentine’s Day is a special day for us romantics so from Wednesday, February 13 thru Saturday, February 16, all fabric that has RED in it will be 20% off. (1/2 yard minimum cuts and fat quarters)

2008 is a Leap Year. Our “proposal” to mark this occasion is to offer a Once-Every-4-Years Sale on Friday, February 29^th!!! Bring in a current Jo-Ann’s or Michael’s coupon, and we will match it on any one item. That’s right, you will get 40% off one item. There will be other specials that day as well so be sure to leap on in. One day only, one coupon per customer please, no special orders, a few exclusions will apply.

Quilter’s General Store’s Bed and Breakfast Weekend will be hosted by Delphine and Ruthie at the Olde Homestead Bed and Breakfast in Sparr, Michigan (The B&B is located on the corner of Sparr and Marquardt Roads just a few miles northeast of Gaylord.) The weekend begins on Friday, March 7^th at 2pm and concludes on Sunday, March 9^th at 9am. The cost is $85 per person which includes 5 meals and a shared bedroom. You may work on a project of your own choosing or create the planned project, a Quick Nine-Patch Quilt Top from pre-cut kits in either 1800’s style or contemporary fabrics. Don’t you just love pre-cut kits? You just sit down and sew, sew, sew!!! The quilt top will measure either 63” square or 58 ½” x 67 ½” depending on how you assemble the completed blocks. The price for the kit is $65 plus tax. Delphine will teach you a new and speedy technique for piecing these 9-patches as well as a great method to join all the blocks together after they have been stacked into one easy-to-use pile. You won’t believe how easily these blocks go together!!! There is a limit of 8 quilters so sign up early for this fun and relaxing weekend. You can order the kit in your choice of fabrics when you sign up.

Snippets
Richard, the sewing machine repair man, will be in the store on Friday, February 15^th. Remember, we also have reconditioned sewing machines for sale in the shop which range in price from $50 to $150.

No scissor sharpening until April.

Flannel Fridays will continue during February. Flannel cut from the bolt will be 20% off ( 1 yard minimum cut) and flannel fat quarters will be $2.25 (rather than $2.75).

We still feature a special Bolt of Fabric at 20% off each week as well as a nifty Notion of the Week at 15% off. These fabrics and notions change every Monday.

Appliqué Block of the Month - we still have a few fat quarters used in the quilt as well as a box of scraps for you to pick through. The fat quarters are $2.25 each and the scraps are $6 for a plastic bag that you stuff with scraps of your choice. If you haven’t picked out a backing or binding for your quilt yet, now is a good time to come in and make your choice.
